Use Notification in Accordance with the Implementation of the "Mobile Phone Improper Use Prevention Act" The Act on Identification, etc. by Mobile Voice Communications Carriers of Their Subscribers, etc. and Prevention of Improper Use of Mobile Voice Communications Services (Law 2008, No.76, hereinafter called the "Revised Act") was established on June 11, 2008. In this Revised Act, confirmation of identification of the user at the time of use (at the time of lease), and when creating and maintaining records of such identification, has become mandatory.
The Revised Act will come into effect December 1, 2008. As a result, confirmation of the identification of customers using our rental cell phones will begin on that day.
At the time of leasing, customers applying for use will be requested to present legal photo identification, such as a driving license or passport. Upon presentation and consent, the "proof of identification" will be photo-copied and stored.
Furthermore, while our purpose is to simplify time and procedures at the time of lease, please be aware that in the event such consent is not given, extra time will be required for the transcription of the necessary items.
◆ Please refer to below, for instruction on how to use.
Ⅰ. When receiving a phone at an Airport Counter
(Narita Airport, Chubu International Airport, Haneda Airport (International Flight), Kansai Airport)
Please present "proof of identification" at the airport counter on the day of leasing.
Please note that this also applies when directly leasing a phone without an advanced reservation at the airport counter on the day of departure.
Ⅱ. When requesting a phone to be sent to designated address (delivery service)
After applying for a rental phone, please FAX or send by mail a copy of your "proof of identification" (such as a driving license, passport, etc.) to our Logistics Center in advance.
Please note that a phone cannot be leased until your "proof of identification" has been confirmed (has been received).
In principle, once the Revised Act comes into effect, the phone will be sent to the residential address listed on "User Proof of Identification."
The phone cannot be sent to another designated location. We appreciate your cooperation understanding.
